The Basque Hydrogen Corridor is a consortium formed of 8 organisations, 12 knowledge centers and 58 companies, totalling 78 entities. BH2C Bilbao Refinery is the consortium’s third project and aims to construct a 100 MW electrolysis plant at Petronor’s Bilbao refinery for operation in 2025. The hydrogen produced will help Petronor to decarbonise it’s refining process and may also be used to decarbonise nearby steel processes of Celsa Nervacero and Arcelor.
