Hanson Cement became a partner of the HyNet consortium in early 2021 and plan to construct a carbon capture facility to produce net-zero cement at their Padeswood site. The project will use the HyNet infrastructure to transport and store the captured carbon. The project is one of 20 which has been shortlisted for phase-2 of the UK government CCUS cluster sequencing process.
