The state government of North Rhine-Westphalia has confirmed €770,000 funding to support a feasibility study for the construction of a 100-megawatt water electrolysis plant for the production of green hydrogen at the INEOS site in Köln. The hydrogen is to be used as a feedstock for ammonia production at the plant, although future expansion could allow for uses in the local Chemiepark, regional transport or for green methanol.
