Nauticol Grand Prairie

Nauticol Energy plan to construct a blue methanol plant in Grand Prairie, Alberta. The plan is to start the construction of the first plant in 2022 and the company expects the start of production in 2026. The initial production capacity is 1.7 million tonnes of net-zero methanol annually. Nauticol has also secured transportation deals with TC Energy and CN Rail, as well as Port access via Prince Rupert. It has also secured offtake agreements with two investment grade offtakers for 80 per cent of its product.

Lake Charles Methanol

Lake Charles Methanol (LCM) is a blue project located in Lake Charles that will use advanced natural gas reforming technology and permanent carbon capture and sequestration to produce low carbon hydrogen for conversion to Blue Methanol. LCM has completed engineering work with Fluor Corporation and Morgan Stanley are leading a process for raising equity for the project. The project is targeting financial closing and construction starting in the second half of 2023.
