Project ONE aims to build an ethane cracker in the Port of Antwerp with a carbon intensity half that of the European average. The design achieves this by optimising thermal integration, maximising conversion and obtaining PPA agreements for the required electricity. The ethane cracker used in project ONE has also been designed so it is possible to feed the crackers and steam boilers of Project ONE entirely with hydrogen. This will enable further emissions reduction as the planned hydrogen infrastructure comes online.
