CARES is an independent, not-for-profit certification body, established in 1983 to provide confidence to the users, purchasers and specifiers of constructional steels through a regime of regulation, testing and inspection. It operates for the benefit of the construction industry offering certification schemes for companies that produce materials, components or offer services, primarily to the reinforced concrete industry.

Clients can specify CARES approved companies and products with confidence that they will comply with the relevant product or system standards and without the need for verification testing by the purchaser or contractor.

The Carbon Trust is an expert partner for businesses, governments and organisations around the world – supporting them in realising ambitious plans for a sustainable, low carbon future.  We believe that environmental sustainability and economic prosperity can go hand-in-hand as we address the climate crisis.

The Carbon Trust has been a trusted partner to a wide range of organisations grappling with energy issues for over two decades. We have been engaged in what could be described as ‘first of a kind’ energy systems work, for example helping UK power distribution network companies understand how best to integrate electricity storage assets onto networks, quantifying uncertainty in future energy system business models for multinational corporates, and developing deployment roadmaps for renewable energy technologies and smart (mini-) grid architectures for governments around the world.

We also have a track-record of supporting innovators to develop new value propositions which have disrupted energy markets and we keep a keen eye on sector-wide developments in order to inform our work in developing strategic outlooks.

The World Cement Association, founded in 2016, is the largest independent organisation that works globally on behalf of the cement and clinker industry and its stakeholders, with offices in London and Beijing. We are a not for profit company incorporated under UK law, owned and controlled by our members.

The majority of our members are cement producers, ranging from the world’s largest companies, with capacities of 540mtpa, to some of the smallest, with capacities of 0.5mpta. We also represent companies across the wider value chain, including specialist engineering firms, equipment suppliers and technology providers.

WCA supports a sustainable cement industry, encouraging technical development and innovation by its members to achieve full decarbonisation, in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and the 2015 Paris Agreement.
