Energy Systems Catapult was set up to accelerate the transformation of the UK’s energy system and ensure UK businesses and consumers capture the opportunities of clean growth. The Catapult is an independent, not-for-profit centre of excellence that bridges the gap between industry, government, academia and research. We take a whole systems view of the energy sector, helping us to identify and address innovation priorities and market barriers to decarbonise the energy system at least cost.
The World Cement Association, founded in 2016, is the largest independent organisation that works globally on behalf of the cement and clinker industry and its stakeholders, with offices in London and Beijing. We are a not for profit company incorporated under UK law, owned and controlled by our members.
The majority of our members are cement producers, ranging from the world’s largest companies, with capacities of 540mtpa, to some of the smallest, with capacities of 0.5mpta. CEMBUREAU, the European Cement Association, is the voice of the cement industry in Europe, communicating the sector’s views and policy needs to the European Union. In addition to the EU, permanent dialogue is maintained with other international organisations (e.g. OECD, IEA), the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) and sister associations in other parts of the world. CEMBUREAU’s members include the national cement industry associations and cement companies of the European Union (except for Malta and Slovakia) plus Norway, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom, and cooperation agreements have been concluded in Cyprus and Ukraine.

With some 1,700 member companies the German chemical industry association Verband der Chemischen Industrie (VCI) stands for over 90 percent of the chemical-pharmaceutical industry in Germany in terms of turnover. In 2018 the industry realised sales of over 204 billion euros and employed ca. 462,000 staff. The VCI has 22 sector associations covering all product sectors of the industry as well as 8 regional associations. This makes the VCI one of the three major industry organisations in Germany.
