Westkuste 100 1

March 1, 2023

The renewable energy generated by wind turbines will be used to generate green hydrogen through a 30 MW electrolyser at the Heide refinery. The hydrogen will be used to produce climate-friendly aircraft fuels or be fed into gas grids. The production of aircraft fuels without any fossil sources will involve the use of CO2 emissions […]

Westkuste 100 2

March 1, 2023

Using the results and learnings from the 1st stage of the project, there are plans to scale up the Westkuste project to a 700 MW electrolysis plant fed with electricity from an offshore wind farm.

Air Products Clean Energy Complex

March 1, 2023

Air Products’ blue hydrogen energy complex will supply blue hydrogen for Air Products’ pipeline customers in the U.S. Gulf Coast and blue ammonia for global hydrogen markets. Approximately 95% of the CO2 generated at the facility will be captured, compressed, and transported safely by pipeline to multiple inland sequestration sites located along a pipeline corridor […]

Port of Rafnes

March 1, 2023

INEOS plans to build a 20MW electrolyser to produce clean hydrogen at their chemical manufacturing site in Port of Rafnes. This will lead to a minimum reduction of approximately 22,000 tonnes of CO2 per year by reducing the carbon footprint of INEOS’s operations in Norway and serving as a hub to provide hydrogen to the […]

Becancour

March 1, 2023

In 2021, Air Liquide brought online the world’s largest electrolysis plant to produce hydrogen using renewable hydropower supplied by Hydro-Québec. The 20 MW plant uses PEM technology from Cummins Inc and the hydrogen produced supplies industrial and transportation markets in Canada.

Stanlow Refinery Hydrogen

March 1, 2023

Vertex Hydrogen is a joint venture between Essar Oil UK and Progressive Energy. Vertex’s low carbon hydrogen production plant will be a core part of the HyNet low carbon cluster. Low carbon hydrogen will be produced at the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex located in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The hydrogen will be produced using Johnson Matthey’s best […]

Project Cavendish

March 1, 2023

Project Cavendish aims to kickstart a hydrogen economy in the South East of England by producing blue hydrogen in the industrial region of Isle of Grain. Initially, the site will produce 700 MW of hydrogen before scaling up to 1.75 GW by 2030, increasing the total CO2 abatement to 3 million tonnes per annum.
