2021 Net Zero Corporate Readiness Report
ENGIE Impact, Silver Sponsor Decarb Connect EU have shared their latest Net Zero Corporate Readiness Report which focuses on bridging the gap between net zero optimism and operational reality.
In this report, results found that businesses are upbeat about their sustainability programs but are underinvesting in the enablers of Net Zero transformation.
ENGIE Impact surveyed 400 business leaders across 23 countries, representing companies with more than $1 billion (USD) in revenues or more than 10,000 employees, just weeks before the COP26 conference. Their research highlights a stark contrast: while companies are optimistic about their ability to decarbonise, the managerial and operational fundamentals necessary to enable the Net Zero transformation are not yet in place.
The business leaders polled are split equally between C-suite executives and department directors who lead day-to- day sustainability responsibilities. The gap between perception and operational reality widens when responses are compared. Directors are consistently more attuned to the reality of missing decarbonisation enablers in their organisations than C-suite leaders.
For many companies, a confident, ambitious vision is not translating into having the right tools, technologies, or talent in place to achieve netzero. Download this report to uncover potential gaps in your sustainability initiatives.
