Industry Type: General Industry

H2Morrow
March 1, 2023H2morrow represents a joint venture between Equinor and OGE to construct a blue hydrogen plant in mainland Europe. Equinor will supply natural gas through a pipeline which will be reformed in Germany to produce hydrogen. The CO2 produced in this process will be captured and returned to Norway through another pipeline for storage.

Air Products Clean Energy Complex
March 1, 2023Air Products’ blue hydrogen energy complex will supply blue hydrogen for Air Products’ pipeline customers in the U.S. Gulf Coast and blue ammonia for global hydrogen markets. Approximately 95% of the CO2 generated at the facility will be captured, compressed, and transported safely by pipeline to multiple inland sequestration sites located along a pipeline corridor […]

Wabash CCS
March 1, 2023The Wabash CCS project is located at Wabash Valley Resources’ plant in Indiana. Wabash Valley Resources is an affiliate of the independent commodity merchant company Phibro LLC and is producing hydrogen and ammonia fertilizer. It aims to capture and sequester up to 1.65 million tons of carbon dioxide annually using Honeywell’s capture technology and to […]

Acorn Hydrogen
March 1, 2023The Acorn Hydrogen project reforms North Sea natural gas into clean hydrogen, with CO2 emissions safely mitigated through the Acorn CCS infrastructure. The first phase 200-Megawatt hydrogen plant aims to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 400,000 tonnes per year. Genesis Energies completed the engineering contract for the concept evaluation stage of the project.

H2NorthEast
March 1, 2023H2NorthEast is a strategic initiative to build a 1 GW facility producing low carbon, blue hydrogen utilising UK North Sea natural gas that is already processed at the existing CATS Terminal. Over 95% of the CO2 produced will be captured and transported offshore for storage using infrastructure developed by the Northern Endurance Partnership. The project […]

Stanlow Refinery Hydrogen
March 1, 2023Vertex Hydrogen is a joint venture between Essar Oil UK and Progressive Energy. Vertex’s low carbon hydrogen production plant will be a core part of the HyNet low carbon cluster. Low carbon hydrogen will be produced at the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex located in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The hydrogen will be produced using Johnson Matthey’s best […]

H2H Saltend
March 1, 2023H2H Saltend is Equinor’s flagship 600-megawatt low carbon hydrogen production plant with carbon capture, which offers to a 30% reduction in the Saltend Chemicals Park’s total current carbon emissions. The plan is backed by at least six local industrial operators who could potentially use this hydrogen to lower the carbon footprint of their processes and […]

South Wales Industrial Cluster
March 1, 2023South Wales is the second biggest industrial and power emitter of carbon in the UK, with over 16 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per annum. Around 90% of those emissions are produced by 3 companies – all of which are involved in the South Wales Industrial Cluster. The cluster is jointly funded by project partners […]

Smeaheia
March 1, 2023An expansion of Equinor’s CCS capacity, Smeaheia will offer CO2 storage “on a commercial basis” to industrial customers in the steel, cement, and heavy industry sectors. Equinor plans to offer Smeaheia’s CO2 storage services to companies across Europe as they have identified a growing demand for industrial solutions across Europe.
