Ian Riley

Ian Riley is CEO of the World Cement Association and holds several board and advisory positions with companies involved in climate action and climate tech. Previously Ian was China Country Head for Holcim. From 2006 to 2014 Ian was a member of the Huaxin Cement management team, with responsibilities including international business, corporate strategy, business development, sustainability and equipment manufacture. Ian was responsible for Huaxin’s first overseas venture in Tajikistan. Before joining the cement industry, Ian worked in construction and industrial minerals in China, the UK, the USA, Australia and Japan. Ian Is a graduate of Cambridge University.

Haitham Sedik, Global Strategic Partnership Manager – Cement Sector, Shell Energy

Haitham Sedik

Haitham is the Global Strategic Partnership Manager for the cement sector at Shell Energy. He has worked in and collaborated with the cement industry for over 18 years. He is leading Shell’s global efforts with key cement stakeholders in helping achieve their decarbonisation goals through developing and implementing viable decarbonisation and energy transition pathways.

Fathesha Sheikh, Director, CCUS & Hydrogen eFuels Program (North America), Holcim US / Lafarge Canada

Fathesha Sheikh is a seasoned leader in carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) and clean hydrogen, with over 21 years of experience in the energy sector. Currently, as Director of the CCUS & Hydrogen eFuels Program at Holcim North America, Fathesha leads the development and implementation of large-scale CCUS projects focused on reducing carbon emissions in the cement industry. He previously led the commercialization of the world’s first CCUS project for the iron and steel industry. Prior to joining Holcim, Fathesha played a pivotal role in advancing CCUS and clean hydrogen initiatives at ADNOC and worked at Shell and contributed to their Pearl Gas-to-Liquid (GTL) complex, the largest plant of its kind in the world.
