The Pulp and Paper Energy Efficiency and Electrification Upgrades project was selected by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations to begin award negotiations for up to $46.6 million in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act funding, as part of the Industrial Demonstrations Program. The project plans to decarbonize a thermal process using Via’s novel membrane-based technology which would reduce 75% of carbon dioxide emissions per gallon of clean water removed during pulp production in this application.
