Cemvita’s role in creating high value products from CO2 using synthetic biology
Tara Karimi from Cemvita Factory Inc. talks with Alex Cameron about creating high value products from CO2
Routes to industrial decarbonisation may run from CCUS to fuel switching and energy efficiency, but no area is gaining greater interest that how CO2 itself can be transformed into valuable products. Cemvita’s approach is already showing that valuable products (bio ethylene is just one example) can be created for clients by taking nature-inspired processes and synthesising them. This combination of biotech, energy and synthetic biology offers a route to economical, carbon negative solutions – and products that are both profitable and climate-positive.
Join Alex and Tara for a conversation about how you can create valuable products from CO2, replicating genetic pathways to achieve green products and to hear how Cemvita is joining the dots between scientific disciplines from genetics and biotech to engineering and space tech to get exciting results.

Decarb Connect supports the acceleration of industrial decarbonisation around the globe. We share insights and facilitate collaborations across the emerging decarbonisation ecosystem. We look specifically at the most energy-intensive industrials from cement, metals and mining, glass, ceramics, chemicals, O&G and many more and help connect them to technology disruptors, investors and advisors.
Through the Decarbonisation Leaders Network (DLN), our members (a cross-sector network of those leading decarbonisation in energy-intensive industries) share insights and experiences as they accelerate their Net Zero plans. Check out Decarb Connect’s offerings and learn about the Decarbonisation Leaders Network members, meetups and benefits.
