ACTL Edmonton Connector

September 25, 2024

The ACTL Edmonton Connector will extend the existing Alberta Carbon Trunk Line (ACTL) system through the core of the Alberta Industrial Heartland and into the Edmonton Region to support existing and new industrial facilities in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. At full capacity, the ACTL Edmonton Connector will be capable of transporting approximately seven million […]

Pathways Alliance Foundational Project

September 25, 2024

Pathways Alliance is a collaboration between Canada’s six largest oil sands companies, representing about 95% of Canada’s oil sands production. Phase one of the project will connect 13 CCS facilities from north of Fort McMurray to the Cold Lake region to a carbon storage hub in the Cold Lake region. This will be achieved through […]

Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP)

September 25, 2024

The Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) aims to accelerate the development of an offshore pipeline network to transport captured CO2 emissions from both Net Zero Teeside and Zero Carbon Humber to offshore geological storage beneath the UK North Sea. Around 4 million tonnes of CO2 per year from these projects will be transported and stored from 2027. […]

Viking CCS

September 25, 2024

Led by Harbour Energy, with partner BP, Viking CCS is a CO2 transport and storage network located in the Humber, the UK’s most industrialised region. It is targetting 10 million tonnes of CO2 per annum by 2030 and up to 15 million tonnes by 2035. 10 Mtpa CO2 2030 UK Humber CCS Hub

GOCO2 Project

September 25, 2024

The objective of GOCO2 project is to develop an investment programme to capture CO2 on industrial sites and transport it by pipeline to the Montoir-de-Bretagne terminal for permanent geological storage. The estimated capacity is of 2.6 million tonnes per year by 2030. Convinced of the benefits of a collective approach, the partners in the GOCO2 […]

Origins

September 25, 2024

Origins is a permanent storage hub that will be operational as early as 2025. Enhance Energy estimates that up to 20 million tonnes per year of CO2 can be captured, transported, and permanently sequestered. 20 Mtpa CO2 2025 Canada Clive, Alberta CCS Hub

Meadowbrook Hub Project

March 1, 2023

The Meadowbrook project aims to sequester 3 million tonnes per annum of CO2 captured from local emitters. In 2022, Bison received an evalutation phase carbon storage tenure for a 70,000 hectare area north of Morinville. The evaluation phase has commenced and is expected to be completed by late 2023.

Atlas Hub

March 1, 2023

The Atlas Carbon Sequestration Hub would service Alberta’s industrial heartland region, east of Edmonton, providing permanent subsurface carbon storage for industrial users, in an open access “hub” format. The Atlas Hub would be anchored by CO2 volumes from the proposed Shell Polaris carbon capture project and the ATCO-Suncor clean hydrogen project and will build on the success […]

Houston Industrial Area Hub

March 1, 2023

US supermajor ExxonMobil has proposed to establish a CCS hub for the industrial area along the Houston Ship Channel, requiring a combined investment of $100 billion or more. The hub, or “Innovation Zone”, would bring together all levels of government, academia, and the private sector to create a multi-user CCS system, aiming to capture the […]
