Project Type: CCS Facility

Illinois Clean Fuels Project
March 1, 2023Illinois Clean Fuels is a synthetic fuel plant, under development, that will convert Municipal Solid Waste into sustainable aviation fuel, in combination with carbon capture and storage. The project will sequester the carbon captured in the process, as well as CO2 produced by other industries.

Polk Power Station
March 1, 2023Tampa Electric Co. have received $5.6 million from the Department of Energy to conduct a FEED study on the retrofit of ION Clean Energy’s CCS technology to their 1.2 GW Polk Power Station.

Ervia Cork

Runcorn Energy Recovery Facility
March 1, 2023Viridon intend to develop a CCS project at their Runcorn Energy-from-waste site. The project is one of 20 which has been shortlisted for phase-2 of the UK government’s CCUS funding and support process. The project alone will capture 900,000 tonnes of CO2 each year, 50% of which includes biogenic CO2, effectively removing 450,000 tonnes from […]

Lindsey Refinery
March 1, 2023Prax are targeting the capture of 1.1 million tonnes of CO2 per year at their Lindsey oil refinery site. The CO2 will be captured from refinery’s heaters and process units and will be transported and stored by Harbour Energy. This project is likely to be implemented in two phases; the first in 2027 and the […]

HyNet NW Hanson Cement
March 1, 2023Hanson Cement became a partner of the HyNet consortium in early 2021 and plan to construct a carbon capture facility to produce net-zero cement at their Padeswood site. The project will use the HyNet infrastructure to transport and store the captured carbon. The project is one of 20 which has been shortlisted for phase-2 of […]

Fawley Refinery
March 1, 2023ExxonMobil has signed a memorandum of understanding with gas distribution company SGN and Green Investment Group to look at ways to lower industrial CO2 emissions in the Southampton area, including at the company’s Fawley complex. If the technical and business feasibility of the initiative is confirmed, a facility to capture industrial CO2 emissions could be […]
